Never Forget You

I know of a great Nation that once shone as bright as the noonday sun.  Regrettably, they have forgotten who they are.  How it pains me that they do not remember.  Nevertheless, I have not given up hope, because at this very moment they are searching for the truth.  In fact, it has been prophesied that they will shine again.  Let there be no mistake, this Nation of whom I speak has a great purpose and reason for existing.

I could try to tell you of their Kingdom, but that would take a very long time.  Indeed, the place where they come from is very beautiful, and to describe its majesty would take a skill far beyond mine.  You see, their Kingdom is not of this world, but of another.  Nothing that I have seen here can compare to it.

They were exiled here by their King a very long time ago.  It's still hard for me to believe, but their King had no other choice.    One of His top Royal Princes, Lucius, was deeply jealous of them, and wanted to destroy them.  But it wasn't that simple, considering that they are immortal.  Alas, Prince Lucius swore that if he couldn't kill them, that he would get them to curse the King instead, and if at all possible, their very own existence. Lucius knew such an act would set off a chain reaction that would have far reaching consequences. His plans didn't stop there either; for above all, he wanted to be King.

And the King, well of course he wanted to protect both, His people and the Kingdom, from Lucius' plans.  So he created an arena in another dimension, a place where the threat could be contained, and vanquished. He called this arena Time.

How did he do this, you ask?  At first, he enlarged the Kingdom, and then he divided it into two, in much the same way a cell multiplies, a task that blows my mind.  Nevertheless, the damage was done, and the King and his people were separated.  Let no one fool you, betrayal is no small thing.

The King has not abandoned them here though, but has  prepared a way for them to come home.  However, only those who reject Lucius can find it.   If truth be told, the way is narrow, and shadows fall all around, but for those who do find it, a crown of gold and everlasting life is their reward.

If you listen carefully, you will be able to hear the King calling to his people across the chasm of time.  Prince Lucius tries to obscure the King's voice with all kinds of dark tactics, but it is everywhere.  There is no getting away from it: it's in the rustling of the leaves, in the kind voice of a stranger, and even painted in the sunset.  Perhaps you have already heard it. Nothing can silence it...

Indeed, there is nothing Prince Lucius hates more.
